Aims of the
Encyclopaedia of Australian Radio Show Database(Earsdb)
The Earsdb project has been a project by volunteers, supporting Moris Sztajer in particular and Ian Grieve, in their efforts to document the period of Australian Radio known these days as the Golden Age of Radio.
Documenting Australian Radio is a mammoth task and we have many smaller projects coming together to funnel the information into a single storage container.
Moris Sztajer's easy to use and powerful database is the nucleus for building the definitive searchable research resource for Australian Radio pre 1960's.
Earsdb is not being presented to you as a finished product, more as an indication of how far we have progressed to date- a work in progress.
We know, indeed hope, that purchasers of Earsdb will immediately find gaps in the information and possibly even errors. For you to find those gaps and errors, it means you were interested enough to go looking.
If you have information not included in Earsdb, or you can think of areas you believe we have not covered sufficiently or at all, please check out our HELP section and share that information with us.
Some of the parts we are, or will be, currently concentrating on:
- Adding to the list of Series/Serials/Plays produced in Australia
- Documenting the individual episodes and adding episode descriptions where possible
- Introducing Series/Serials/Plays produced in other countries and broadcast in Australia
- Documenting the Amateur/Quiz/Variety Shows and the Australian contestants
- Continuing to document the people involved in Australian Radio
